Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-12. This policy applies to the Resist Android app and this website (resistapp.in).
Who we are
Resist (“we”, “us”) provides an Android SaaS subscription for digital accountability and partner alerts. For personal data processed for the service, we act as the data fiduciary under applicable Indian law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as it applies). Contact: resist448@gmail.com.
What data we collect
- Account: name, email address, and authentication credentials (passwords are stored hashed).
- Partners: partner email addresses (and optional phone if you provide it), invite and accept/decline status.
- Billing: payment-partner customer, subscription, and payment identifiers needed to manage your plan. Card details are handled by our payment partner—not stored by us.
- Devices: basic device info needed to link your phone to your account and keep monitoring working.
- Activity alerts: information needed to run partner alerts—for example whether monitoring is on, and when flagged browsing activity is detected so partners can be notified (including censored domain labels and search-related alert content as described in How it works).
- Notifications: push notification tokens if you enable partner notifications.
- Website: our host may keep basic technical logs to run and secure this site.
- Support: information you send when you email us for help.
Why we collect it
To create and secure your account, manage partners and subscriptions, operate monitoring and alerts you enable, send transactional email and push notifications, improve reliability, and respond to support requests—purposes connected to providing the service you request.
Sharing & processors
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Your invited partners, to the extent needed for alerts they are meant to receive.
- Service providers (data processors) that help us run the product, such as: payment processing, email delivery, push notifications, cloud hosting, and analytics or crash reporting if we enable them—in each case under limits appropriate to that role.
- Authorities when legally required.
Retention
We retain account and event data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance, then delete or anonymize it when no longer needed.
Your rights & choices
Subject to applicable Indian law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and raise a grievance about our handling of your data. In the app you can manage partners and turn monitoring on or off. To cancel a paid subscription, exercise a data right, or get billing help, email resist448@gmail.com. We aim to respond within a reasonable time.
A grievance officer / formal business address may be published here once our entity details are finalized.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission is completely secure.
Children & family use
Our Terms ask that the person who creates an account and pays for a subscription be able to enter a contract (typically 18+). The app does not verify age. Parents or guardians may also set Resist up on a device a child uses when they have authority to do so. Where Indian law requires verifiable parental consent for processing a child’s personal data, the parent or guardian who configures the account is responsible for providing that consent.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes means you acknowledge the updated policy.
